Joshua Davis Flash Pioneer & Designer speaks at The Nerdery tomorrow
Designer and Flash pioneer Joshua Davis will be dropping by The Nerdery tomorrow evening to deliver his talk “Unknown Journey” on his use of the HYPE framework and the importance of learning from your failures. One of our developers described him this way: “Jeffrey Zeldman is to HTML/CSS standards what Joshua Davis is to Flash development.” If you don’t know what that means, it’s a pretty high compliment.
Through his websites Praystation and Dreamless.org, Joshua influenced a new generation of digital artists. As his biography on Apple’s website describes, “Davis creates electronically generated graphic compositions of almost unimaginable complexity and individuality. Equally at home with print and electronic media, he builds his own Flash-based programs to combine and recombine colors borrowed from nature with forms that include organic shapes, text elements, and other symbols.”
Joshua will start his 1 hour presentation around 6:30 p.m. You can RSVP on Facebook, or leave a comment here.
In the meantime, check out some of Joshua’s work:
