Picking teams: A Nerdery Challenge

The Nerdery considered a snow day today. And besides waking up to 16 inches of a cold, fluffy blessing on the ground, it’s raining nerds, hallelujah. This year, more volunteers than ever want in on The Nerdery Overnight Website Challenge. Year one, we said we’d take 10 teams but went to 11. Two years ago we went with the nerdy dozen. Last year we needed a bigger boat for 16 teams. So, after the thankless work of shoveling out just to get here, it wouldn’t get any easier for us as we took a hard look at the 18 teams with at least 8 web pros pledging nerdy deeds done dirt cheap. After much discussion, some regrettable pounding on tables with snowy shoes and a few tie-breaker rounds of paper, rocks, scissors, we decided the right thing to do was let ‘em in. All 18 of ‘em. Here they are:

  • Bedlam & Breakfast
  • Blue Lasers
  • Concrete5.mn
  • Drop it Like it’s Hoth
  • Drop Shadows not Bombs
  • Full Court WordPress
  • Hard Corps
  • John Lennon’s Miracle Sunrise Soda Shop Franchise
  • The JWT League of Embetterment
  • Nerdery Bigfoot Research Consortium
  • Push & Run
  • Rainbow Pony Cake
  • Ratchet
  • Ruby.mn
  • Team Redundancy Team
  • Team Venture
  • TST Media
  • Word to Your Motherboard

Alice Cooper liked being 18, which has to bode well for the nonprofits we’ll announce next week.
