Help fight cancer & win an iPad
The other night Ali and I were at a tavern having a PBR toast to our mad kickballin’ skills. After reflecting quite a bit on our victory, our thoughts turned to all the crazy things happening at The Nerdery to raise money for this Light the Night Charity Walk we’re doing at the end of the month. The walk is for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in support of Nerdery software development manager Bill Brown, and in memory of his son Matthew and wife Kate.
Lately we’ve been playing poker (for charity) and shoving quarters into the Nintendo arcade game cabinet (for charity) in the lunch room, cooking breakfast for everyone (for charity), and throwing pies in the faces of our elders (for charity, really). . . you know, just a typical week.
However, we’re only a couple weeks out from Light the Night and are still quite a bit away from our goal of raising $10,000. While drinking these frosty brews, our creative juices began flowing. Being the web experts we are at The Nerdery, we came to a never-tried-before conclusion on how to raise a boatload of money using the internet. SOCIAL MEDIA. LET’S GO VIRAL.
