How Scrabble is played in The Nerdery

Sure this might look like a crappy cellphone picture of a Scrabble board, but it’s not. No, it’s a crappy screencap of a picture from the Scrabblecam. Even old school Scrabble has a nerdy twist here. At The Nerdery the Scrabble board gets its own webcam and players have to check in every once in awhile to see if it’s their turn (denoted by the Post-it on the side of the board).
Right now I am off to play a triple-letter V.
UPDATE: Now you too can watch the Nerd Scrabble action.

Isn’t it Matt’s though that you stole from him?
Matt Tonak on February 9th, 2009
I think we need webcams at each player’s desk because I smell a cheater.

I think your accusations merit further investigation, Matt. Hexane, really? Who has that word in their vocabulary?
Matt Tonak on February 9th, 2009
Hexane was pretty impressive word from a player that used “pooped” in the last game.
The placement of “hexane” is what had me suspicious. Who would know that “ka” is a word? Dictionary.com says it is a spiritual entity in the Egyptian religion.
I did some sleuthing and caught the cheater viewing a Scrabble site which I think is http://www.scrabulizer.com/
Does anyone have some good suggestions for punishment? I say we force him to use OS9 for a week.

As someone who stumbled across this web site through a Google alert for “Scrabble” (yeah, I’m a nerd), I can add that “hexane” smells funny. (cough) word generator (cough)
Heh… as a fellow web developer, I decided to look around, and I’m quite impressed with “the Nerdery.” You guys seem like pretty cool cats. Cheers!

What is “guyed”?
Theresa Dahlberg on February 11th, 2009
What is “shat”?
Mitch&Tonic on February 11th, 2009
“Shat” is kinda like “Sharting”. I will now use “Shat” in a sentence. Oops, I shat my pants.
Jodi Chromey on February 11th, 2009
Theresa, Shat was a Mark H. suggestion. I believe he might have a definition for you.
Mitch&Tonic on February 11th, 2009
Shat is Shit in past tense.
Theresa Dahlberg on February 12th, 2009
Mitch – I would expect nothing less from you…
